Pressure cuffs and tubing

For consistent and accurate pressure measurements with PeriFlux 6000, cuffs should be the correct size for the limb being measured, clean, and in correct functioning order.

You can order new cuffs and pressure tubes for your PeriFlux 6000 by getting in touch with our sales team.

Consistent and accurate measurement

Measuring patients and study participants using properly sized pressure cuffs is essential for pressure-based exams like skin perfusion pressure (SPP), pulse volume recording (PVR), ankle pressure, and toe pressure.

If the cuff is too small, you may need to over-inflate it to achieve occlusion, potentially distorting the measurement, damaging delicate tissue, or causing discomfort. Conversely, an oversized cuff may not provide the correct localized pressure, leading to incomplete occlusion and imprecise data.

All Perimed pressure-based instruments come equipped with a set of pressure cuffs in multiple sizes designed to suit most people and limbs.

We recommend regular cuff inspections to detect signs of wear, such as fraying, air leakage, or loss of elasticity. Visible signs of damage or compromised functionality are indicators that a cuff should be replaced, even if it hasn’t reached the end of its expected lifespan. The lifespan varies depending on cuff material, frequency of use, and maintenance practices. You can always ask Perimed if you are unsure.

Tubes and cuffs

You can purchase pressure tubes in packs of six or as a kit including 12 cuffs and six tubings. We offer a range of cuff sizes to suit your measurement needs.

Bayonet coupling

Pressure tubes connect directly to the compressor at the back of the main unit and to the cuff via a bayonet coupling. These couplings are subject to wear and may need to be replaced from time to time.

Tubing

The procedure to replace bayonet couplings involves cutting the pressure tubes. Over time the tubes become too short to work comfortably. We we recommend you replace the tubing at this point.

Color coding

To help with patient prep, our pressure tubes are marked with color-coded strips to match the user interface. Due to normal wear and tear, these strips may need to be replaced from time to time.
